A panel failure isn’t just a repair job. It’s downtime, safety exposure, and a conversation no project manager wants to have. The industries below have taught us exactly what they need and we’ve built our enclosures around those requirements, not around what’s easiest to manufacture.
We manufacture industrial enclosures and electrical enclosures across four main categories, all available as standard builds or fully custom to your drawings
Space-saving electrical enclosures built for clean, secure wall installations.
Heavy-duty industrial enclosures that stand firm in demanding environments.
Operator friendly desks built for control rooms that run critical systems.
Enclosures designed to keep your automation and electrical controls organised, protected, and accessible.
Organised, section-divided industrial enclosures for complex power distribution systems.
Structured, ventilated racks that keep your network and server equipment protected.

Kay Switchgears is an industrial enclosure manufacturer based in India. We’ve been building electrical enclosures for power systems, control panels, and outdoor installations for clients across India and international markets. Every enclosure leaves our facility CNC-fabricated, powder-coated, and inspected delivered on time, built to last.
From your drawing to your doorstep every industrial enclosure we build follows the same six-step process. No shortcuts, no guesswork.
Customer shares panel drawing or requirement. Layout, dimensions, and component placement are reviewed before planning.
Based on the drawing, CNC programs are prepared to define cutting accuracy and enclosure structure.
Sheet metal is cut precisely as per design specifications to form enclosure panels and components.
Cut parts are shaped using press brake machines to achieve the required enclosure structure.
Components are welded and assembled, including mounting plates, doors, and structural parts.
Grinding, surface finishing, and quality checks are completed to ensure proper fit and readiness for installation.
Our technical capabilities are supported by advanced manufacturing infrastructure and controlled production processes. We specialize in sheet metal fabrication, CNC cutting and bending, precision welding, and powder coating to produce enclosures with consistent dimensional accuracy.
Trusted by clients across industries for quality and reliability.
Kay Switch Gears delivered enclosures exactly to our specs. The build quality and powder coating finish were excellent.
We rely on them for all our heavy-duty industrial panels. Their adherence to IP standards gives us confidence in safety.

Answers to help you select the right electrical enclosure for your application.
Coastal environments are aggressive salt-laden air causes standard powder coat to fail within 12–18 months. For coastal outdoor installations, specify SS304 or hot-dip galvanised construction, IP65 minimum, stainless steel hardware throughout, and a marine-grade finish. Standard CRCA with powder coat is not suitable, regardless of what the datasheet says.
Document every deviation with photos and measurements against the approved drawing before accepting delivery. A reputable enclosure manufacturer will either replace or rework non-conforming units at no cost if the deviation is on their side. If they push back, your purchase order and approved drawing are your legal protection. This is why drawing sign-off before production matters.
Yes, it matters significantly. IP55 allows limited dust ingress and protects against low-pressure water jets. IP65 is fully dust-tight and handles direct water jets from any direction. In practice, IP55 is adequate for covered outdoor installations. For enclosures exposed directly to rain, washdowns, or high-humidity environments, IP65 is the minimum you should accept.
Ask for the certificate number and verify it directly on the certifying body's website Bureau Veritas, TÜV, DNV, or whichever body issued it. A legitimate ISO 9001:2015 certificate will have an expiry date, scope of certification, and a verifiable registration number. If a manufacturer can't produce this within 24 hours, treat the claim with scepticism.
This almost always comes from manual fabrication without CNC controls. Ask your manufacturer directly: are your bends and cuts CNC-programmed or operator-set? CNC press brakes and laser cutting held to a programme eliminate the human variation that causes batch drift. Request a first-article inspection report on new orders if they can't provide one, that tells you something.
Yes most serious enclosure manufacturers in India will take custom orders from single units upward, especially for made-to-drawing work. The MOQ issue usually comes from suppliers who only want to run standard products. If you're being pushed toward a standard size that doesn't fit your panel layout, find a manufacturer who works from your drawing, not the other way around.
Middle East projects typically require IEC compliance and SASO certification for Saudi Arabia, ESMA for UAE. African projects vary by country but IEC-based standards are widely accepted. CE marking helps in both regions for multinational tenders. Always confirm with the project consultant certification requirements are increasingly specified at tender stage and retrofitting compliance after manufacture is expensive.
Explosive dust environments (grain handling, chemical processing, woodworking) require ATEX or IECEx certified enclosures rated for dust explosion zones Zone 21 or Zone 22 depending on frequency of hazardous atmosphere. Standard IP65 enclosures are not sufficient. This is a safety-critical specification get it confirmed by a certified hazardous area consultant before purchasing.
Almost always a pre-treatment failure. Proper powder coating requires a seven-tank phosphating process before paint application. Manufacturers who skip or shortcut pre-treatment produce enclosures that look fine on delivery but fail within one season. Ask specifically about the pre-treatment process number of tanks, chemical process, and whether panels are inspected for surface preparation before coating.
